Stories about Kade

Kade thinks he is Emery’s disciplinarian sometimes. Randomly I will hear him say, “No no baby girl. One, two… three. Okay, you go on time out now!”

I showed Kade that I can “take my thumb off” and the thinks it’s pretty gross! It’s that trick where you bend both of your thumbs in half and put them together with the pointer finger over it and “pull” the thumb apart. The first time I did it he freaked out and cried and told me to stop. I showed him how I did it and told him that I wasn’t REALLY taking my thumb apart, but he still didn’t like when I did it. Now that he’s used to it (and with the reassurance that my thumbs are both intact every time I do the trick) he thinks it’s pretty cool and asks me to do it all the time!

Kade is quite the compassionate and patient older brother! Emery has started picking on him quite a bit and for the most part, he deals with it really well. She scratches, bites and pulls hair, and he usually does nothing in return. I will hear him saying, “Ouch! Stop it baby girl!” I’ll ask what is going on and he will say, “Oh, Emery scratched me” or “Emery bit me. But it’s okay.” She has been put on time out quite a bit lately from those kinds of behaviors!

Even though Emery can be fiesty, she loves her brother so much! And he loves his “baby girl” so much too.

These are some of the scratches that Emery has given to Kade. Makes me sad!
